Hiya I've been a hs sufferer since I was 14 now 31 my flare ups are getting really bad now I've been on all different treatments over the years but nothing seems to be working... I have got one now it's that bad I can't sit down the pain is unreal to the point it's making me cry I've been sitting in hot baths to try and relieve the pain and pressure I have pain all in my one hip it feels bruised too... I can't get in the doctors until tomorrow hopefully it's really getting me down and depressed now to the point I don't want to be here anymore my confidence is shot etc... Has anybody got any tips or home treatments I could do to try and ease it? Tia xx

I just discovered medical honey after dropping a blender blade into my toe, leaving a 1/2 inch deep wound that couldn't be stitched because of the area.

Apparently it works as a poultice and creates a (high or low, I can't remember) ph that bacteria can't grow in- plus it heals your skin.

So after the I'm an Idiot wound closed in 2 weeks (it should have been months) I thought, hey I'll try it on some HS--

So it worked amazing on longstanding open sores I have had on my breasts- I just slathered it on bandaids, left them on until showering, let them breathe which they actually don't recommend, for a few hours, and did it again. 2-3 days later- no more oozing, and from red to pink. I have tried EVERYTHING - this is the most promising.

However, the same medical honey DID NOT do anything for a still closed new sore.

Try adding some white vinegar to those warm baths, about a cup to a tub of water ( add more if you've got a large tub). Soak for at least 30 mins and pat the area dry when you get out. The vinegar helps dry things up and kills germs. Do you try to drain your lesions yourself? That can help a lot just be sure to use alcohol swabs in the area before and after draining to help prevent infection. The vinegar bath works really well after draining to speed up the healing process but you can do it before as well. Good luck!

I'm not sure if you've tried it, but I'm on Humira now for HS- had for about 5 years. I have been pain free for a few months now...

Ask your doctor about using ultra violet light to help your cyst to burst (without using any knives to open it up). The exposure to the light does it itself. Once the sore is open and the pus gets out, the pain is lessened. A kit can be bought at the auto repair spare parts store for leak detection that has a small flash light. Put the flashlight from the kit right on top of the cyst for five to ten minutes. Do not look into the light. In fact the kit comes with goggles to protect your eyes. The cyst should burst within 24 hours. If it doesn't, repeat the process after 24 hours. Two exposures should do it. Clean the area around the wound and put antibiotic cream and a bandage over it. Please check this out with your doctor. Putting ichannol on the cyst also helps to burst your cyst.

Sorry for the late reply I will try the white vinegar in the bath to see if helps... I do drain them if they pop to get all the stuff out I don't pop them myself tho... I had one come up in a new spot which is on my side by my hip which was painful whilst wearing trousers I've recently started using sunbeds ready for my holiday and to my surprise it went after a couple of days and I've haven't had one come up for a few weeks now it feels such a relief and being painfree
