You're in a good area, lots of opportunities to find a good doc. I am not happy with mine and she is the only one in the area accepting new patients so I'm just stuck. I tried to see an endocrinologist to check my hormone levels because hormones are a factor but my insurance does not cover the procedure calling it "investigative", so I can't even check my own hormone levels, just very frustrated at the moment.
I have been noticing HS being present with people over 50 years old and it doesn't really give me much hope, I mean there's a good chance I'm stuck with this well into menopause. I guess all we can do is manage it the best we can.
