i had a serious breakdown today from everything in my life going horrible wrong. and im seriously at the point were i dont care anymore.
my HS is so bad that my husband and i cannot even be romantic anymore.
but he insists that i go have more surgery! i dont want more surgery, it didnt work the first 2 times. how is it going to work the 3rd time.
my HS is causing tension in my home. which i hate.
everything with my workers comp is spinning in circles.
and then my damn orthodontist told me if i dont quit smoking by next week, she is going to take $9,000 worth of braces off. which ive only had 2 months.
i finally was able to come off my depression medication, just to need it again.
i dont even know what to do anymore. :(

I can certainly understand you not wanting any more surgery.. I totally agree with you.. I too had surgery and it didnt work and the last thing I wanted was more fkn pain and have it NOT work!
I can also understand the intimacy issues. They are the worst part of HS in my opinion.. at least for me and my hubby.. he starts feeling neglected and like I don't love him if I can't have sex with him for an extended period of time. It really does stress you out! And then I get upset because I WANT to have sex, but can't and I feel angry because it seems like he doesn't understand.
He is my suggestion:
Go back to the doctor and get some medication for the depression/stress. Also ask for some patches to help you quit smoking.. then wear them and work on quitting. You can always start smoking again AFTER the braces are off, but truly you can't risk 9k worth of orthodontia JUST because you want/need to smoke. I smoke too and feel horrible that she put the screws to you like that.. what a bitch.. but you HAVE to obey or risk them. The patches helped me tremendously AND Medicaid covers them! At least give them a shot.
As for the workers comp. there is nothing more that you can do that you are NOT already doinf.. is there? No, I didnt think so.. let it fall where it may and do the best you can with it. Dont let it stress you out more than you already are.. we know added stress only makes the flares worse, and they are bad enough as they are.
No one can tell you what to do.. you know in your heart what you want to do, and what you must do. Be true to yourself and dont allow anyone or anything to make you do something you dont feel comfortable about.
Right now everything is overwhelming.. but it WILL get better! I promise you that! It WILL get better! Just take one thing at a time and one day at a time. Once you have some medication for the depression you will start to feel a little better too.

Plus since its a proven fact that it causes depression this adds on to this fact.
At the very least it cost you nothing to file.
also I would go after medicaid too to help pay for your dental work / depression stuff.
The only problem I have with intimacy is the smell, the pain is not to bad when we do it cause of the body's natural pain fighter during this time which is a very nice med indeed :)

As for your orthodontist giving you that ultimatum, she can't do that. You paid for her services and therefore she can't take them off. Unless she gives you your money back. If she doesn't give it back and she takes them off, that's just as good as stealing your money. Did you sign a contract with her that said anything to that effect? If you didn't then she doesn't have a leg to stand on. Don't be afraid to tell her this either.
plus, my doctor said she would give me chantix, but she is to afraid it will make me suicidal because i guess that medication has a tendency to do that.
nick: i applyed for SSD and was denied because my workers comp stuff is still ongoing, but i appealed it and now just waiting. and ya i checked out the chat last night, but no one was on. well it was 2am. lol
leslie: thank you, and i did sign a contract. but it said no where in there that she can do this. she told me she would rather me chew gum to quit, but when i asked her what happens if i break off a bunch of the bracets because of the gum, she said that fine id rather replace brackets at $45 a peice then you smoking.
leslie: yep i'll be the one stuck paying for it. she told me she will know if i quit or not. and ith my luck i will quit and she'll take them off anyways and accuse me of not quitting. i really should though, but for me not her.
