Not sure how this works. This is my first time joining an online support group. Unfortunately, this is where I've found myself at 1:15am on a saturday night. I've been dealing with Hidradenitis for the past few years on and off (perhaps a breakout once every few months). But within the past month my pain has been severe, annoying and ultimately causing emotional breakdowns. I did not know that there was actually a skin condition that existed for what I am experiencing. I honestly thought if I were to see a doctor about it they would be disgusted and have no idea what it is. Thankfully, tonight after about a half hour of research, I know that I have this skin condition and many others do as well. It's sort of a shock to me right now that it's actually a known thing that tons of other people have because I've always thought it was just me and to not talk to anyone about it. I've been dealing with the pain, embarrassment, and uncomfortable situations for a while now and am ready for advice on what steps to take. I couldn't be more desperate for help at this point (hence why I'm on an online support group). I'm currently laying in bed. Not able to get comfortable due to the pain. And being extremely jealous of people who will never have to deal with this. Although I am thankful that I can put a name to the condition and realize I'm not alone, I'm scared that I'm too late, that this won't go away, and that extreme measures will have to be taken (surgery) which I'm deeply afraid of. Here's to wishing I would've trusted myself when I knew something was wrong a long time ago. Ignoring it has lead me to this point. Trying to live a normal life is becoming more difficult. As going to work everyday makes things worse. Can't help but to think this is my fault. Being overweight and having a poor diet don't help the issue.

I suppose things can't get much worse than this. Emotionally and physically drained.
