HI everyone,
Since changing my diet & going to a naturopathist who has put me on a supplemental regimen, I have seen some great improvement in my left arm, stomach & thighs. My right arm is still having issues. Yesterday I had a lot of pain in my right arm so I went to the doctor & he said that I have developed a tunnel in my right arm that is causing pressure on my veins which is causing superficial phlebitis is my right arm - hence the pain. He is recommending that I have surgery on the right arm to get the tunnel closed up/removed. He feels my diet changes will work better in the future for that arm if we can take care of this.
I have really tried to avoid the surgery - but at this point - I'm not sure if I will be able to. I have 2 holes in that armpit that have been open for well over a year & they don't seem to be closing any time soon. It fills up, drains, itches, then fills up again.
I have an appt with a surgeon tomorrow, but I want to make sure that I get the right person to do this surgery. For those of you that have had the surgery, what questions should I ask this surgeon? Any advice you can give would be most appreciated.

When I finally allowed myself to entertain this option as my only way to get past this hurdle, I felt so defeated. I have fought this for a while and was convinced that I would not have surgery. There had to be a better option. But now I feel like I have gained some more weapons and am ready to go back in and fight. HS is disgusting, horrible and all the other adjectives and expletives I would like to add. But I am a fighter & I will fight this with all I have.
This group is incredible, courageous and strong!! You help me keep my fight going every day. I know I'm not alone. We will beat this!!! Hope everyone has a great, pain-free day!
