I'm seriously wondering if i'm the only one who gets disability benefits off this wretched condition. I know what shape i'm in as a severe stage 3 sufferer of this, so it wouldn't surprise me if others haven't applied yet. Pro tip to anyone applying, this condition is actually bluebooked by Social Security as an automatic qualifier for SSDI no matter the age since there is no cure for HS. My attorney figured this out (smart man) and he got me approved in 5 months.

Hi Jason,
I have had hs for two years now. I am 25 years old. I was looking for anything to help so my quality of life wouldn't disappear completely. I finally found an herb and I am on a regimen. It's called turmeric. I bought it at Walgreens and it helps sooooo much. It helped to open the sores and they started to drain and then eventually heal. I take 3 capsules everyday. It definitely helps. Please try it if you haven't already. Mine aren't completely gone but they are slowly getting better as long as I don't forget my dose. Good luck I hope this helps!! I have applied for SSDI and my first application was denied, I'm currently waiting on the appeal. However I spoke with them today and they are wanting to go back 3 years and get information instead of getting it 3 years ago and what is going on now. My biggest thing is I don't have a lot of doctors that I have been to because I was so ashamed to go, so I think that's why I got denied the first time. However I don't see me getting approved this time either since they aren't wanting current information. I got my fingers crossed and hoping that it will get approved this time.

Yes, I do. I guess I was fortunate that all my records are at The Veterans Administration. I had all my files there so It was easy for Social Security to obtain them. I had to sign a release form. I get SSDI, and also VA compensation for a military issue. I also became proactive with my SS adjudicator. Please people don't give-up. Have all your doctors records at the ready, or tell your doctors to release anything that'll help your cause. I hate this weird disease; as we all do.

I want to apply for as I ,should I meet with attorney first and see what they say?I can barley work an 8 hour shift. I can't wear a bra anymore.any suggestions for me???

Been on SSI for HS for 7 years now so you are not alone Jason.

How many times it take you to get disability? I would like to be on disability I have had HS for 5 years now. And several surgeries bc my HS goes to stage 3 quickly.

Just submitted my application for SS today! I have also filed for VA disability compensation since this started while I was still in the Air Force. Only became aware that it was possible to receive benefits for this a short time ago. Best of luck to everyone!

Took me only 6 months to get disability but every case is different and interesting enough every states disability determination services is different for example I couldn't get disability in one state but was finally approved in another.
