Hello Loved, My grand daughter, who is a Downs person (16 years old) just had a growth removed from her left armpit. It was a golf ball sized lump that would not drain. Her heart is compromised because she had open heart done at 4 months of age, so they don't take chances letting her get a severe infection, so they went in there to take whatever was in there out. While the surgeon was there he found several other "pockets"/lumps surrounding the follicle that he was after, so he opened up her underarm to the tune of about a 3 x 3 inch opening and left it to drain and heal up on its own - which it did. That has been 4 weeks ago today. Her parents kept her on the pain meds for about 4 or 5 days but she was up moving around pretty quickly - not much keeps her down. I will tell you one thing - this is probably one of the worst conditions I have ever witnessed. I am a 63 year old woman that took care of a life long diabetic though double transplant surgery until he died at 42 years of age. I have often said that diabetes is worse than cancer because it takes longer to kill the person. But HS is a terrible condition and I am sorry that you are having to go through this. I am asking my daughter in law to consider having laser hair removal done on my grand daughter. I have read that there is success with it and it makes sense. She is already doing the diet stuff to try to prevent future outbreaks - but Megs already has a new lump right above the surgical site - so I am very concerned as are her parents. Our hearts and prayers go out to all HS sufferers.

I had this done and it worked great!! Of course I see you have already had your surgery and I fully understand the pain your in!! But.... it worked for me on my worst spots.It does not or will not stop the disease, Doctors have told me everything from "it will just go away" To hear try this soap!! ( I took their soap and threw it in the garbage in their office, treating me like i'm dirty! Im cleaner than the doctor im OCD!) Back to your question, it should work for you although I have changed my eating to all plant based and I can now avoid surgeries but I can not rid this disease!! I had that procedure on the back of my neck. It took about 2 months to heal with cleaning and packing and covering every day. I didn't experience much pain with it, more of an annoyance. It has been a year since I had it done on the back of my neck. Today, I find most of the discomfort in the places where the hair is growing back in. Other than that, the area "feels funny" because of how it healed. It is much better than having the bloody flares there tho. I am having issues with it on both sides of my groin currently...and they really don't want to do surgery in that area due to the sensitivity and the area itself. I have a topical antibiotic gel I use if it gets too painful, otherwise due to other medical conditions, I have stopped all oral antibiotics (they didn't seem to help much anyways--just caused loads of nasty side effects!) Take your time to heal. <3
