My doctor listened to me describe my symptoms and asked me some questions, such as when it started, how big the sores got, and if anything made them worse. Then he did a quick exam. He talked to me a bit about HS and mentioned that he had a few other patients with HS. He created a treatment plan for me, although he cautioned me that there is no cure.
I had a follow-up appointment 2 months later, and my symptoms were better but not as good as he wanted them to be. He gave me a referral to an infectious disease specialist at the university, but my summer is chaotic and I haven't gone yet.
