Just wanted to share a moment. Three days ago I put my daughter on bactrim once a day per advice from her derm doc. She was breaking out due to her menses.....Her skin looks fabulous now... I am shocked. she is on bactrim 1 pill a day...She also is doing paleo which has helped her immensely..... The paleo is not easy being that she has a kid mentallity with her down syndrome but she loves her little bbq chicken legs and loves her broccoli and her fruits..... Without this diet she would be a little train wreck..... I know diet is controversial here but that is how we combat the HS...... Before the diet she would get boils everywhere..... We dont go out to eat because I worry about her getting glutenized...... she is doing so well that we just take our lunch or supper if we need to go out.
Oh, becareful everybody on the zinc, I gave her 80 mg of zinc 2 days in a row and she got horrible diarrhea so only giving her 30 mg of zinc.....
I read that 90 mg of zinc can put some into remission...it gave her horrible GI issues so forget that idea......
This disease is a bad one as it inflicts pain, disfigurement, depression,
and makes one feel as if their life is not worth living sometimes. I remember all of last year and I was so depressed with all of it. I am better now since she is better. I read all of your posts about the depression of HS and being a caregiver for my daughter I fought that depression...it is tough.....I am so happy to have a little area in the computer where I can come and share my thoughts and try and cheer
