I found out today that a co worker had HS. He's only been there for about 6 months. I was talking about my HS when he sat down next to us. He then asked me questions about HS and I showed him pictures and description on webmd.com from my smartphone. He's about 45 and has had it since puberty. Like alot of us he has seen many doctors and dermatologists but was never formerly diagnosed with HS. Unbelievable that there's so many dermatologists that don't care enough about us to even research it on the internet. How long does it take to google chronic boils and find hidradenitis supporativa? I went undiagnosed for 17 years. They just don't care enough to take the time. They get your doctor visit payment say ok take this antibiotic and out the door you go. It's over in minutes and it took you weeks to get the appointment and sometimes hour to get in there to get looked at even though you were on time. Oh and don't miss your appointment or they will charge you a no show fee. It was'nt even a derm that diagnosed me and I had seen 3 or 4 and I dont know how many quick care doctors and family doctors. It's criminal what a lot of doctor's do in my opinion. I can remember my mother suffering from hyperthyroid for 4 years. She saw the same doctor every 3-4 months, he just kept giving her cortizone. I talked her into going to another doc and he found problem in minutes simply by feeling her neck and running tests. If you don't think your doctor is doing enough to help you than he probably is not. Find a new one.
