Hi guys, I am new to this group! I have had HS since I was 9 years old i am now 29 and its worse now than every. It started on my inner thighs and have gone up my entire body. its now on my neck and its really unsightly and EXTREMELY painful. yesterday I went to a new dermatologist and just so happend to be in the middle of what I call a cycle, my HS is in the tracking stage so the "tunnels" fill up and swell and come to a head and then open up and drain. the cycle takes about a week and 1/2 and it usually happens around my menstrual cycle now. before it was anytime of the month or if I drink alcohol! so anyway yesterday my HS cycle was on day four and i was in so much pain that it was affecting my vision, so the dr lanced it and squeezed the life out of it (and me) and then packed it with some kind of medicated string. then all night last night it drained and drained and drained. I am wondering was it necessary to pack it seeing as how its still draining, even now! Has anyone ever had this done and if so what was the outcome. The dr also mentioned starting humira shots-is anyone familiar with this treatment? if so please let me know as I cant find really any studies supporting this! thanks for your help! Gigi

I've had that done to me before.... the squeezing of my boil was the worst pain experience I've ever had in my life. It was horrible... then it kept draining for days and days, but it healed without a problem.
I can't tell you anything about Humira because I never took it.
