Hidradenitis Suppurativa Support Group
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, sometimes as large as baseballs, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation,...
Stomach, duodenum, and a case of Barret's Esophagus on top caused by GERD which i never knew i had. Three blood tests for h. pylori came back negative over the course of one year, another sample came directly from my stomach tissue (fun!) Twelve years of this for me. I've begged for the h. pylori treatment, but doc is "afraid" i'll become resistant to antibiotics!
Gee, the ER couldn't do a simple blood-draw for h.p. and spare you the agony of waiting for a doc appointment and another wait for a lab-draw? Then a wait for treatment? Such compassion! Efficient, too!
I pulled up h. pylori on earthclinic and found nothing about HS. In all the reading i've done, yours is the first claim i've seen that it's connected to HS in some way. Perhaps others remember seeing or hearing about it.
But there's great hope for you, ulcer-wise, if you do have h. pylori, as the antibiotic Combo cures most people. (I live on drug-rep samples of Nexium from my doc.) If you do get the Combo, you may notice a reduction of inflammation of your HS for a short while, but it's no cure. If only!
Until your peptic ulcers heal, do the usual: no coffee, chocolate, alcohol or spices (herbs are fine.) Over the counter acid reducers help most people a bit until their h. pylori is wiped out by the Combo. And, oh yeah, "reduce your stress" !!!
Good luck, sweetie!!! :-D
