So frustrated!!!!!

Hello everyone. I just joined this group and wanted to see if any of you have any suggestions on how to close an open wound. Its been open for six months and its getting bigger. I have boils everywhere and they are quite painful but for this open wound I am freaked out that I will get sick from bacteria getting in there. I went to urgent care due to not having insurance and all they gave me were antibiotics and gauze. Its so frustrating.

Open wounds take forever to heal as HS wounds heal slowly, How I know this is my daughter had an I & D under her arm and the damned thing STILL is not closed after a year or so...... whenever she gets an abscess there it sticks out thru the holes where they did surgery, I would suggest you keep the area very clean...... Have you tried maybe Manuka honey on it? My daughter had a huge on about the size of a half dollar and I kept putting honey on it and it finally closed...... bout drove me crazy but I did not know what else to do.... I also kept it very clean and bandaged... why did I do the manuka honey? it is antibacterial and is VERY GOOD and used all over the world for wound care. God bless you and good luck, Tangerinebear xo

Thank you. I will try that. Its nice to actually have a chance to use a method to try and close it. I was all out of options.

I would try a salve/balm with comfrey & plantain.

Comfrey/Plantain has allantoin in it and is known to speed wound healing and increases cell growth. Plantain also has aucubin in it, a strong antimicrobial substance known to help prevent infections.
