Oh, I'm so glad you're going to the biologics. They're not for everyone, and there are potential side effects, but my daughter has seen SO MUCH improvement by taking Humira along with methotrexate. Seriously, I think it's the best thing going right now for HS sufferers. And, she's had NO side effects - NOT ONE. Good luck and keep us updated, okay? I'll be praying for you.

I just got prescribed all of that , plus an antacid because of how clindamycin reacts in my stomach. Plus they gave me clindamycin topical ointment. Im on a 30 day treatment but the rimpafcin, is one dose a week for 2 weeks. Prednison, 4 a day for a week, then 3 a day for a week, then 2 a day for a week, then finally 1 a day. The clindamycin 2 300mg twice a day. Im on day 2 , and i feel soo much better, i can finally sit in peace if you know what i mean,

I am taking Clindamycin and rifampin. I have been on them twice a day for 15 day so far and have had good results but it is hard on your stomach.

I went to the hospital and a team of a dermatoligist, plastic surgeon and a lady from biologicals told me they will put me on infliximab asap but since then i got a severe blatherinfection witch also affected my kindneys. They can`t put me on inflixamab whilst having this bacteria roaming around in my body so they are doing a culture on my urine to determine the right antibiotic to attack it. The clindamycine and rifampicin and prednison are not doing much everything is still very inflamed. I`m having a lot of pain. Showering is a hell like experience. Today i get oxicontin 10 mg to go in the mix but i`m weary if that will cut it because the pain is so severe. I also have 6 oxynorm 5 mg a day. I have to be carefull with my stomach and kidneys. I can`t wait to start the infliximab and hopefully be painfree since a long time. Thank god for my parents who look after me and my animals so well without them i would be dead right now.
I will keep you updated on how i`m doing once i`m going on the infliximab.

spaceteddy - I am so sorry to hear of your setback, but it seems that it may be only temporary. I'll be praying for you to be able to try the infliximab as soon as possible. My daughter tried the clindamycin/rifampin combo for a while. Didn't do much for her, but it did turn her pee orange! A sight to behold. Thanks for the update and here's to your speedy recovery!

Here another update. I had my second IV a week ago and my peri anal fistel is not annoying me like crazy and is a little bit better. There is not so much air in it and i can sit straight now i still am leaking there and other spots such as my labia`s my left thigh my right armpit. I`m having very low bloodpressure 90 over 50 and i`m feeling dizzy and lightheaded i see crosseyed and i sleep from23PMtill16PM. And still have to lay down because i`m not feeling well. I went to my GP and he told me to cut down on the oxycontin which i now take 40mg 2 times a day. Tommorow i`m going back there to get my bloodpressure checked. Next tuesday i`m going back to my derm to talk about how the infliximab is working. Not good enough. 6th of august i get my third IV and by then it must be working. I hope my bloodpressure will become normal again. I`ve been taken care of by my parents for 9 weeks now and haven`t been at home now for that long. I miss my independancy and sense of being normal.

I`m ressponding better now the oxycontin has gone down with 10mg. I feel alot better no visiontrouble and lightheadedness i do not ly in bed all the time. I went to my derm and biologicspecialist and they were content that it shows signs its working my ass looks better but they said i have to be patient because ive come from far and it was so terrible. Im having chestpain haertcramps but the say it is a harsh disease with a medicin with harshe sideeffects. But maybe the haertcramps will go away once my body get used to the infliximab and i can erase the oxycontin completely. After my third IV and check by my derm i can go back home and everything will be normal again. I have to get an IV every 8 weeks and probably surgery when everything is quiet. I hope someone finds this info usefull.

Last week i had my fifth infusion of remicade (infliximab). I`m doing a lot better I saw pictures of myself in May when i first came in and i look so much better now . The leaking is reduced to a minimum and the inflamation is so much better. It`s a miracle. I can walk now painfree. Hurray. I have side effects namely psoriasas on the scalp and little spots on my back, hairloss, heartcramps and permanent runny nose maybe i forget some but it`s all worth it because i can pick up my life again .
If you have HS bad think of remicade or what i`ve heard humira they can really help you.

Other of my side effects are itching of the shinbones, a tear in the corner of my mouth(longtime) and spontaneous peeing my pants without feeling the urge or a warning. This happened now 5 times a tampax is not enough but it makes me feel more secure. If anyone else has these side effects i would like to know .
