This support group has already helped me, though I just recently started to be active here.
I'm sorry you have HS, it sucks. But it seems to me at least, knowing there are others here that understand what I'm going through helps me.
It's alright to rant and rave here, sometimes that helps and of course we'll listen.
lol. It would be nice if someone with HS could become a dr and help with the disease.
I've given up on dr's. I'm trying to beat this with diet and I'm taking a more homeopathic stance.
So far so good. It seems to be controlling it better than antibiotics ever did, they just made it worse. :(

You'll find doctors to be one of the most frustrating species on earth. I hope you benefit from the info on here. There is promising information regarding Gluten Free diets and Biologics like Enbrel.

Welcome!! Glad you're here with us! I'm still kind of new myself, but these forums are *amazing* for sharing and learning from each other. I also hate doctors who don't prescribe me pain medicine, and then lecture me on how they are addictive and blah blah... I don't drink or smoke and have never done drugs in my life, so.. what's the harm? Drives me crazy... If I could stand seeing blood maybe I'd have been a doctor, lol.

Good Idea, one of us should become a doctor. Every time I watch the show HOUSE MD...I keep hoping he'd cure us. I've had HS for 35 years now, was only diagnosed 5 years ago...Mine is on my tailbone, inner and outer labia, and left groin. I haven't asked my doctor for pain meds...but I think I might. Thank u very much for the welcome! I have it also on my tailbone, inner and outer labia, thighs, stomach, underbrush, under my books, and a little on my sides. I remember getting it sometimes when I was very found but didnt get it fully until I was 13 and was diagnosed at that time. I was actually just at the doc the other day and when I was in there with him my mom mouthed to me if I wanted her to ask about some pain meds, I said don't bother, because I could tell he wouldn't do it. But she asked anyway and he of course just said take 4 ibuprophine. Hello it doesn't do anything! I eat those like candy. Ugh, so dumb. I love House! Lol I always wish he was real and could be like poof here's ur cure lol.

thats a new one! Diet is a help in this infirmity. My daughter has had this crap for a very long time but just recently diagnosed. Doctors are lets say lacking with this disease. Anything you can do to help yourself will be
your medicine so to speak. Read up about the paleo diet and I would be glad to tell you what works for my daughter. She has been paleo since the end of January. YOU are your own advocate! The doctors know very little about this disease and dermatologists just want to shove antibiotics at you nonstop....Hope we can help you....another thing, I would try and keep the ( books) ha powdered and dry..... I use Gold Bond Powder equate form from walmart It is gluten free and helps her...... As the derms usually say, it it is wet, keep it dry...Good luck, tangerinebear p.s. plus sweating does not help this disease so the powder helps a bit with this and we use hibiclens to bathe with!
