Hidradenitis Suppurativa Support Group
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, sometimes as large as baseballs, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation,...
I wonder what it is that I say or do...even when I sit in the bus stop people move away from me...I shower everyday...so I don't know what it is. I've been told that I should smile more...but with so much problems and probably the biggest one being HS you don't really feel like "smiling".
I guess I am used to the loneliness
In my opinion its not so bad... falling inlove can be one of the most beautiful things...or it can go completely wrong and you'll end up in even worse shape...I wonder if its even worth it...
Well I guess with all this rumbling I am trying to say "Hey, you're not alone."
We're here....somewhere. :|
Never had any intention of even trying to meet a girl who would accept me.
Story goes...
I look OK in clothes.. everything is hidden and my school reunion was coming up. I really wanted to go out and have a good time with my school friends knowing I didn't have to worry about them knowing about or seeing my condition. I will admit, the excitement of seeing my old friends gave me the enthusiasm to lose some weight and try and look as good as possible.
At the reunion I exchanged contact details with some of the girls and/or friended them on FaceBook.
I asked some of them out to dinner, with the intention of just getting out of the house with some company... one accepted, and we have since developed a sort of relationship. I told her about my condition, but one night she still wanted to have sex...
Without getting into the nasty detail.. the first time was difficult... i did not feel attractive and actually felt sore. But MAN I was so excited I had actually had SEX again!
I've been seeing her for a few weeks now.
I bathe before she arrives, before we sleep and as soon as I wake up (almost). She has seen most of my body and I am comfortably a stage 3 on the HS scale (1. really 2. fucked 3. up).
But there is someone else out there that can tolerate me.
So guys.. I really fucking hate appearing to be sympathetic..but having HS and a partner is not mutually exclusive
I can definitely sympathise & relate to where all of you are coming from when it comes to feeling horrid about my HS, but in many respects I've been lucky. I'm 36 now & have been in my current relationship for ten years. We had a great sexual relationship for the first 8 years, just so you know my HS didn't even develop until about 6 years in. It's only been in the last couple of years where my HS unfortunately got in the way of us being able to have more typical kinds of sex. We've had to become a bit more creative I suppose ;)
crmay1: I had to laugh at the last line of your entry. You sound like Becker. LOL
I saw a hottie that was WAYYYYYYYY out of my league was there. I fully intended a one night stand. Wasnt sure how I was gonna pull it off since this was my first time feeling like that was all i would ever get. Newho to wrap it up. We sat up all night talking and never got to the naked part and he pretty muched moved in after that.
We have been together for 8 years now and had our share of struggles as we both have issues with depression but I married my best friend and he drains all my owies for me. He used to rub my back for an hour to get me to sleep when i was completely covered in owies and if I can find someone by locking my keys in the car, then surely there will be somone when you least expect it too. Feel free to friend me and see what my body looks like. I was a disaster just one year ago.
I have been on Humira for a year and I have maybe 5 owies on my groin active now versus my entire body. Just thought I'd share there are people out there willing to accept you for you!
I found this surfing around yahoo...I hope the link works.
It doesn't seem like they have allot of going on but if any one here is interested. Give it a shot.
