In the last 4 years my HS has decided to travel from my groin to ALL OVER MY BODY!!! I have had HS for around 19 years. I am having a problem with open sores that won't close under my arms( It looks like raw meat...). I put bandages on them but the bandages stick and reopen them as soon as I take them off. I put antibiotic cream on the bandages and I wonder if it isn't keeping the wound to moist. I don't know what to do. I am a hairdresser so I have my arms up and down all day, every time I move i pray that the drainage didn't come through the bandage and one of my clients will see it. I do have to mention I can't take any meds for this right now because I have been trying to get pregnant for two years. I am giving up on the pregnancy thing next month because the HS is getting worse and I can't do this any more I'm so tired... How do you all get your wounds to close?

All I can say is: Patience. Keep the wounds squeeky clean and as dry as you can get them. Change your dressings as often as you can. I hope you find this helpful and the advice of others. I know all too well about giving up on the pregnancy thing because of HS. I had to do that myself and now I'm adopting. I wish you the best :)

I have had 3 miscarriages I'm just so tired and in so much pain. I was trying to hurry and get pregnant so I could get on medicine to get this under some kind of control but it's taking over and getting worse every day. Once again HS wins...

For me I try to sleep bandaide free at night with my arms above my head or as high as i can go. I feel like if my wounds breathe they get a little more scabby. I have also bee using wicking pads to help close the wounds better. If you search the website you can type auquafer pads in the search field and it gives you some information about the wicking pads. I just hope you get some relief soon.

Have you considered surgery??? Maybe you could plan it for around a holiday so you can recooperate without having to tell too many clients. Just call it a vacay. Depending on where or how bad you could be back to great soon? Just a thought??? I hope things look up for you!!!

To help cope with drainage, I'd recommend wearing layers of clothes when possible. I'll often wear an old t shirt or tank top closest to my skin, then layer my good clothing over it. I've also taken to wearing small pieces of soft, absorbent fabric such as washcloths strategically placed on my worst sores, that will often help not only with drainage but healing too. I definitely find the sores get worse when kept damp and unable to breathe. Good luck :)

I think I would go to the doctor and see if they recommend you for social security. I could just feel your pain ouch. Hopefully you can get some surgery soon and that will help you get some relief.
