Hernia Support Group
There are several kinds of hernias, but the all happen when pressure pushes an organ (often the intestine) through a weak spot in a muscle face or wall. Treatment for hernias can be no treatment, to medicines to surgery. Modern surgical methods to treat hernias are much improved over older techniques and recovery times are much shorter.
I have upper abdominal pain and tenderness, burping and reflux, its very uncomfortable. I dont have vomiting which would mean it might be stangulated the hiatal hernia and head to ER.
I just know I been taking my Omerperzole and Pepcid and its not working. It calmed down after awhile when I was able to do my duties bm but just ate a half sandwich (plain turkey and bread, little lettuce) and back to pain again
Is this the type pain you are having? I been googling and reading about pain burning burping and figured it was my hiatal hernia.
I read one site said drink warm sugar water Another said drink water andstand on your toes and come down but thats a sliding hernia I dont even know what kind I have. Another site talked about massage you can do yourself on a hiatal hernia.
I was taking acihpex and gastro dr took me off it and gave me panterparzole, I dont think it helped much so started taking zegrid otc. I also went to a family affair Monday and they had fried fish which I ate, that might have started the flare.
I am going to try the warm sugar water and see if that helps. I have taken pepcid again to seeif that would help but it doesnt.
Let me know if you find out anything and I will do the same
