Do you get recurring pain with a hiatus hernia?

I can start to eat in a day and I start to get bad pain. My stomach will bloat up and I get a horrible pulling pain. The pain worsens throughout the day and just stays with me. It hurts to eat,swallowing foods and liquids. It can feel like something is stuck down in my oesophaghus. Im getting this bad pain mostly every other day or for a few days. Its agony and Im wondering if some pain is the hiatus hernia. I have gastritis too. I wonder if fixing the hernia would help. The gastro isn't going to operate so I don't know whare I go from here. I need help with this. Anyone else like this,getting severe pain?

I use to think it was IBS spasms and even gastro gave me meds for them but now since I developed a hiatal hernia I have more acid in my mouth constantly which I never had before with my acid reflux and also that gripping pain in my stomach area

I hate to eat anything because of it.

I also have fibro which I know makes my pain intensified but its not fun, Worried about the outcome of all this acid in my mouth and my ppis arent even touching it at times.

Hi Magicpill our stomachs are a nuisance,maybe the symptoms can change. I can be ok,well less pain then it will just flare up and Im in agony. I can end up getting reflux in the night and sick but mostly its pain. I think its the gastritis flaring up with me. My doctor now thinks that I have scar tissue from my gallbladder removal. I don,t think so as my endoscopy showed gastritis and a hiatus hernia. Do you take an antacid as well such as Gaviscon? I don,t think a PPI on its own works. Keeping off the wrong food is a good idea as I slipped up when I had a pizza with tomato on it last weekend! Ive been in so much pain. I think theres only one answer to a hiatus hernia,get it fixed. That ph test is horrible though.
