Well, my son came back Mnday night telling me how he is done with drugs, of course I thought, give it one more try, (again, and again, and again.)
Started to feel like my old self and so did my wife today, it was a beautiful day. Well he came stumbling down the steet at 1:00 pm on a sunny Saturday afternoon. High as a kite, but, denying. denying, and denying. *(What's new!) He keeps passing in and out.
Anyway, enough is enough, I want my life back, this is so hard but he can't even be honest about using. I feel he is a lost cause. 6 1/2 years of this insane heroin crap not include other years abusing other things.
Told him he's got 2 choices, state drug rehab, (We have no money left for him) or hit the streets. Anyone with half a brain would pick rehab, but who knows. The state office is closed on weekend so we are stuck with him until Monday. Hope he doesn't steal anything or burn the house down. He has to make the call, and he has to be willing to admit he has a problem that he can't handle, else he'll just book on the state rehab. Once you run away from that, they won't take you back. I am afraid that he is not going to turn his life around and he'll probably end up in jail or dead! What a lost of a beautiful son. This drug stuff started at 13. Jack

i am so sorry to hear this news! i know it is so hard, sometimes you just wonder if this is really your life and how you got to this point and why the son is doing this. i often ask me dd why, why does she insist on staying down so low when people are all around who want to help her, and be there for her! what happened, and what part of dead on the streets doesnt she get? she is still in jail, but now that she has been there for a while and her head is clearer she is getting anxious to get out and she is slipping up and telling me things; i know she is not ready to get sober. i am just so tired of her choices and how they affect everyone! she knows i will not give her anything to enable her use, but right now i dont even want to talk to her! ugh! sick to my stomach feeling!
