So I'm a addict of 15 years. 4 years sober.. but I had a relapse about a month ago.. my husband found out and decided this last week that we needed to separate for 6 months min to work on ourselves . It broke me.. and he wants me to fix myself and what happened that made me relapse..which it's multiple reasons... but in my eyes I thought he should support me thru this not bail on me...not at the worst time of my life...so now I'm loosing my husband my home and my life from the last 4 years ... I worked so hard to get to where I'm at..I got depressed and I even tried to tell him..but he also was in a funk for his own reasons ..I don't know how to look at this...I don't know if he is just bailing and trying to make it easier by saying it's 6months only.. I'm alone...sick to my stomach and of course I just wanna numb it all..but i have no yet..and I don't plan on it.i need a friend...a support system other than what I have ... and a friend is someone I don't have...and my husband was my only friend ... I just want to do what I can not to screw back to the old life...it's so easy to do...so easy..

Hi Casseyb.. I know exactly what you mean. I'm A addict too. But I don't have any sober time on my belt. ANd i moved a hour away from my family to be here with the father of my three kids. And every time I do try to get sober he has to argue with me about everything. And then I run right back to the drugs. He makes living hard. He will kick Me out of his house while I'm pregnant and runs faster to my mother to tell her his side faster then I can. But if you need a friend then ill always be here for you. I promise you.

I am so sorry that you feel this way again. Recovery is not easy. Everyday we are left with the memories our addiction brought us, and sometimes it is easier to run back to those memories then it is to walk away from them. We all have different ways of dealing with things, so I can not say "he should have done this or that", but I will say that I hope you guys can work through it and I hope you can find the help that you need again.

My name is Nikki. I had an addiction to Heroin many years ago. It is the worst when you are trying to get out of that lifestyle especially when you are`feeling alone with no support system. However, IT CAN BE DONE!!!! Especially if you already have had the opportunity of living those 4 years clean from the drug so you have a good chance of changing this darkness into light again. I know it is hard wondering if your husband just said a 6 month break to bail or meant an actual 6 month break for you both to get it together. However, my suggestion to you sweetie is take it a day at a time. what's meant to be will be. You CAN NOT be a good wife if you don't focus on you 1st! Look online for Narcotics Anonymous. The support I received there saved me and i am STILL very close to some. Try that for now. In the meantime I added you as a friend so you have support with me as well. I am just coming back on this site after quite some time so I would LOVE LOVE LOVE an update!!!!! Your new friend NIKKI!!!!

    My mom passed away on June 18th. I was her cargiver and only child. Although she was 89 years young and it was "expected" I don't know how to BREATHE without her. I stay busy throughout the day but I can only do that so long until I burn out! I'm all alone now and don't know what I'm going to do!! I can only fake it for so long. I'm TIRED of losing my people!!!!
