Hello allow me to introduce myself my name is Layne I am a 32 year old recovering IV heroin and benzo addict from New Jersey. I have been clean,with the use of suboxone treatment, for 16 months now. I have been through the "typicals" of most users ie: overdoses,multiple rehabs/detoxes,methadone treatment etc...I hope to give and recieve advice,help and support to these boards. If anybody has any questions or anything for me please feel free to ask. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Congatulations on your awesome achievement! You should be very proud of yourself. There are some great people on this site and we are all here to support you. How did you do it? I'm sure you family is very releived. Keep up the good ork...I'm sure there have been some rough times but being sober has got to be better than the life you were living before!

Hi Sami thanks for the welcome message,I am sure that there are plenty of good people on this site,and I intend on being one of them as well. As far as how I did it well I wish,just as many of us do I'm sure,that I had an easy answer to that question but I don't. I can tell you that I've been through 12-13 rehabs/detoxes,been on both methadone and suboxone(still on that) I've also overdosed many times even to the point of coding and having to be brought back via defribulator paddles a few times,lost relationships,and plenty of money. Even after all of that I continued to use with no regard for anything and I allowed the dope to control my life. All I can say is that my loving family,supportive employers,and a handful of good freinds never gave up hope on me. I'm still putting my life back together and since my drive has always been so strong it seems that my life is coming together at a rapid pace. I'm very thankful for that,and for all of those who stuck in there for me.

I just want people to know that I'm here unconditionally for anyone who needs my help,input and advice.

Hey Layne! Welcome to DS. There really are tons of good people on here in the right places. I'm also a recovering addict from NJ. I'm still on 80mg of methadone at the moment. Been on it for almost two years now. It was my best option to get myself back to where I needed to be without a brutal detox where I probably would have ended up losing my job. Just wanted to drop in and say hello and tell ya a bit about me! I'm sure if you continue to come on here we'll talk sooner than later. Take care bro!

BC-thanks for welcoming me,I am going to get my own mother on this site too.I thihk that this place would be a great help for her,and after being involved in my life durring my use and after I think that she would be able to help alot of people on here while getting more support herself.
