withdrawal help??

I just had to quit Peg/riba as it didnt work well on VL and doc said just stop .after 10 weeks ..so I did I started with the worst headaches and sickness (nausea.and the other end) and was all emotional and weepy over really little things Its been 2 weeks now and I finally feel a little better.... I cleanse with hot lemon water every am and eat very small meals but make them count nutritionally.... could this actually be withdrawal ..... also my platelets dropped since ending to 30(000)and my white count is below 1..... potassium and iron are way off .....All this is worse than during tx >>>any Ideas folks is this normal ......Oh and I guess it hasn't helped to have Pneumonia a week after stopping as neutrophjils were sooo low.... did this happen to anyone ....WHEN will I start to feel well like before tx or do we never get back there fully ??? would be nice to know a bit more about after a failed TX thanks Jan

Peg and Riba are powerful drugs and do stay in the system for some time after stopping. There have been previous threads on the subject of post tx and it varies for everyone, but having pneumonia would effect your white blood count, right? and i don't know what else. What does your doctor say?

So sorry jans you had to withdraw. We endure sides hoping to get rid of this pernicious virus and its heartbreaking when treatment doesn't work.
Yes all the above is with in normal experience.
Honestly can't tell you when you'll start to feel better - cpuld be six months, a year, or for some of us we never really started feeling better because the liver got worse. Two weeks is too soon. Give it months.

There are other treatments out there now and more coming soon that are less traumatic. when you've recovered from I&R, tals to your doctor about the other options.
Hope you feel better soon. It takes time.

Yes, I neglected to say that i am sorry the tx didn't work, but there are many new options coming along rapidly now! There is HOPE!

I stopped INF/.Riba at week 10 also. I remember for a few weeks feeling awful but it stopped and then I felt like my old self again .,

I still remember telling hubby - can't wait until this INF is out of my system - but it will get better.....My headaches were just awful.

Forget about my bloodwork - off the charts.

Just posted my new viral load on SOV/Riba as we both are 3a,
I was over 1 million and now only !2 at week 4.....It is working!!!

Hang in there - you made it thru the toughest part, the old tx...

After each of my failed txs i thought the recovery time was proportionate to the amount of time i was on the poisons. I felt better after a few days but it seemed to take forever before my labs stabilized. So sorry tx failed you as well. That did a number on my head and sent me into a bit of a depression as well. Take it one day at a time. Recovery is easier than tx but you still need to keep drinking water to flush your system of the remaining meds and gradually increase your activities. Eat well, get rest and just know this too will pass. When my txs failed solvadi wasnt developed and it seemed hopeless that thete were no other options avail. Be hopeful that your retreatmemt will be easier and more effective.
