Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Hi everyone.
It's been quite awhile since I last visited DS. Just been so busy enjoying life. It's amazing how much better I feel post TX. Even Before TX I always hurt and ached all over so much that I lived on Advil. I can now actually go through life without constantly feeling like I am 80 instead of the young energetic age of 60 that I just turned in May. Today I was able to ride the bicycle 35 miles and still had enough energy to walk a couple miles with the wife.
The profile pic is from a few weeks ago when I went to Gettysburg. I spent the day biking, reading, and hiking. It's a nice place to go to collect your thoughts and think of how fortunate we are to be living in USA. Still the greatest country on earth.
Tomorrow I go for my final labs to make sure I'm still undie as I was when I finished TX back in March. I am pretty sure that the virus has not returned. It's something I just feel from knowing how my body was for the last 20 years. I think back of how much more I could have done without it. Oh well, all I can do now is look forward to making the next 30 years the best years of my life.
I still hope and pray that one day all those here on DS and around the world are rid of the Hep C. I also hope and continue to pray for those on TX that they can achieve the results that I had and without the dreaded side effects.

HCV will soon (2014) be on a rapid decline into oblivion .new drugs coming very soon!

I'm impressed with the 35 mile bike ride! I'm back to walking again. About 3 miles/day; most days, and am back into life. It feels good.
I'm praying for svr for you, me, erniecoolcat is due for his check - and like you said, everyone around the world.
