Abbvie must be crying. I was wondering about 5816 since I knew it was in trials and pangenotype - like, what about Led? My gosh, when 5816 is approved, what other pharmacy can compete? It's great news, but ... the price, oh the price. Will Gilead somehow come down in the price when Led is approved - and later 5816? If they have a stranglehold on the market with an ALL GENOTYPE, all oral, minimum sides tx - No RIBA, yikes... who can force them to lower prices?

And it should so not be this way - about money, about insurance companies having the power to deny tx to ANYONE because of the cost of the meds.

They had some of this available a few years ago but greed driven Gilead pulled support from BMS & we were left waiting for Sol/Led which will be approved in Oct. The testing of GS5816 is excellent but it isn't going to replace S&L in the immediate future. Gilead was also looking at adding a 3rd drug to the S&L cocktail for hard to tx patients so maybe this was the drug I had read about way back when. It is about time. The promise of better tx meds was held out to us for decades & I'm just glad they have arrived & more are coming.
