It is a shame that INF is still being recommended. It also seems to me, inadequate info when Riba is recommended without a dose recommendation. I have noted that some people on S & R are being prescribed as low as 600 mg and others as high as 1200 mg. In my experience, there was a huge difference in side effects between those two doses and if lower works, i wonder why some are being subjected to higher doses..

Apparently it isn't being prescribed by weight I guess. And secondly, I think they have stock piles of yhis poison yhey need to get rid of. With the new meds coming out these old has beens will be like house guests and fish after 3 days.

Gooser you said exactly what I was thinking! I think they are in on one last big push of the Riba and Inf. sad but true. My GI said the Interferon rep was having somekind of Inf. blowout sale prices. All about the $$

In all honesty...its not about how sick you are or in need you are and I use Marilyn as an example..(.hope you don't mind Maryilyn) and its not if you were tx naive or depressed or have compensated or uncompensated , Child pugh classification...or you just don't want to do the side of rat poison...its all about the Benjamins....$$$$$$ The insurance companies are deciding for you...and yes a good appeal after a denial goes a long way cause some of the insurance companies are letting a few lucky folk squeeze by...and rejecting the rest..while other insurance companies are just OK with it...and dont blink....Im glad to hear that the VA is approving the protocol...GO VETS!

And yet the VA just denied a good friend of mine these meds & are making him wait for new combos. All about the $$$$. Who's making the denial decisions & what criteria are they using? I'm not sure any of us know the answer to the who, what, when, where & why.
