Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I'm away from home, I'm in Louisiana and I can't reach my liver coordinator. I have had a liver transplant and I don't know what I can take that's over the counter to help with this cold I have. I have a stopped up nose as well as a runny nose, headache, coughing, sore throat and body aches. I went to the pharmacy but the pharmacist here in Louisiana couldn't tell me what to take. She said to call my doctor. I tried getting a hold of the nurse and liver coordinator but today is liver transplant clinic and I can't reach anyone. Does anyone here know what I can take for this and something that is safe to take for my liver. Remember I'm a liver transplant patient.
Chlortrimeton - for colds, decongestion
Claritin (plain formula): for decongestion
Robitussin (plain formula): for coughChloraseptic Spray or
Lozenges: for sore throat
Cepacol Spray or Lozenges: for sore throat
Tylenol: for headache, NOT FOR FEVER. Limit to 2000 mg in a
24-hour period.
