Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

But yes let's not also forget the broken promises, drunken sloppy sex, hangovers, feeling good, its anesthetic properties, the good times, the bad times, the things you regret that you said, the anxieties and insecurities that it can loosen up and the myriad ways it can be served up and presented and just how friggin' tasty it is. Many sober people tell me how their social lives took a big hit without alcohol and they miss that as it's so focal to much of what we do. Agreed. Too bad it's also so addictive for many. I had a pear mimosa at brunch but stopped at one. Self control is awesome.
