Howdy Folks,

Well, today marks the end of week 4. This has not been easy by any means, but so far I am making it.

I am very tired, I get my blood work done tomorrow, and I expect it will show that I'm a bit anemic. I tried to help my wife with some simple yard work tonight, and I was completely out of breath and panting after only 10 minutes.

Other than that, my main issue is the itchy/twitchy feeling that wakes me up throughout the night. Perhaps that is why I'm so tired? I started taking Benadryl last night after reading some other posts, perhaps it will help with the itching, and help me sleep. I noticed a bit of improvement last night, but nothing to shout about.

Finally, I just wanted to say a big THANKS for all the support from this board. I cant imagine trying to go through this on my own.

A MONTH down Bob. It feels good doesn't it? yes, the out of breath thing usually indicates some anemia, besides the obvious symptom of exhaustion & muscle weakness. The bloodwork will tell you. You will need listen to your body & rest more.

Glad you're getting through this ok.

Thanks for the 4-week report. I'll be starting for the first time, and have had a transplant that attacking my new liver. I'll be taking the double therapy, since triple isn't approved for post-transplant patients yet. I have concerns, but my decision is finally made - hardest decision of my life. I'm already anemic, underweight, and other stuff going on, but I'm going to go into it with God's leadership and expecting the positive, even though I've been told my chances are not so good. My belief is that if God leads me to it, He will lead me through it.

Excellant Bob! I'm very proud of you!

I finally had to take 1/2 valium and 30 ml (childrens liquid) benadryl to get some sleep. Worked like a charm for me. PCP doc said that I could take up to 1 valium (5mg) and 25 to 50 ml of Benadryl.

Gotta watch the valiums though.... benzos are very habit forming, so not an every night thing.

Keep up the hard work guy. Tx is a challenge in many ways for certain. I remember 4 weeks like it was 11 weeks ago. It's had its ups n downs, much like the elevator business (I knew a guy once who worked in that business -- their best joke of course). I'm hoping that you get to do one of the shorter durations.
