Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Call the lab. I don't know for a fact but I thought they had to check w/ your insurance to make sure you were covered BEFORE they run the test. I'm not 100% sure you are liable. Hopefully someone else has more info. Just because your insurance says you are liable doesn't mean you are.
There's no bigger racket than the health insurance industry imho. They spend more money on advertising and fighting claims than they do on covering healthcare and I'm not even factoring in the money they spend on lobbying.

It said 0.12 would be excellent if I trusted it. My biopsy is stage 2/grade 2, my fibroscan is 17 (very high), my APRI score (less commonly used) is 0.8 which is like stage 2/3 on bx I think. So, based on all of the above...the condition of my liver is anyone's guess :-)
