Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Its not the end all. You've given your liver a break, and new treatments are becoming availiable all the time.
I start week 6 of solv/riba tomorrow, null responder to soc in 2009.
I don't know whether this tx will work for me but truly, not worried about it. I'm grateful for a chance to attempt to clear without interferon.
I am on week 8 of the same treatment. Initially I was told I had to be less than 15 by week four but lat time I was at the clinic they said they are now letting everyone continue.
Being nervous is only human but try to put it out of your mind as you know it serves no purpose. You were most likely already undie weeks ago. So as I do and just get on with things. What is, is.
Big hugsss
. Waiting is the worst...
I have driven myself absolutely INSANE (including my husband) after having this for 25 years....
I now am on SOV/Riba and was VL 12 at week 4. I have to be on for 24 weeks (geno 3a).
I did tx 2 times...1 time plain inf and 2nd time INF/Riba....Never finished full tx in past. This SOVALDI stuff is FANTASTIC and trying to let go of stress takes burden off your liver, plus I had blood work done every week for 10 weeks so far,and each time I watched my liver enzymes go down to NORMAL RANGE and STAY there - for me that is a miracle in itself.
Other things have improved also you might not be noticing,
like going to the bathroom. NOT waking up with a mild fever daily - I could go and on.
I try to put myself in God's hands, but I keep taking it back.
I worry all the time too....
Next I will worry in a year that it came back - This disease does a number on our brains/emotions....
God Bless
I use Quest. They said VL taken on Monday should be in on Thurs or Fri.
This Monday, still no result, so Dr office called them 2x to get it.
I'm on S&R, 6th week. 4week VL still detectable. Not sure they'll have me continue tx, also had to drop riba to 600mg.
