Yes A&B very important and a follow up to be sure the B took.
I had a whooping cough vaccine and had a very bad reaction that I believe still affects me

If you contract hep A or b while suffering hcv, and while on treatment, your liver can jump off a cliff.
If you have questions about your doctor's recommendation, may I suggest you ask him to explain. you'll get better answers from your own doctor than you will here.
Personally, I would get the vaccines but thats my informed choice considering my health profile.

I just finished my 3 Hep B shots this week. I was a little slow.

I had to get vaccinated against Hep A and B (the B was in 3 doses)
I always get a Flu shot and I really should get the
whooping cough update one.

I was scared to get the hep a & b vaccinations, but now I am glad that I did. My whole family has been getting them - a baby was born and they are suggesting now to get them while young.

I had my kids done 20 years ago for the Hep B.
The Doc told me if I got Hep A or B, my liver would be maxed out.

I also had to get tested for A and B and then vaccinated prior to TX. That was part of what caused my start date to be pushed forward. I will have my last booster in a month.

I don't know about anyone else, but those suckers HURT. As in don't touch my arm, hurt.

I was also told that contracting A and/or B with active C virus and liver damage, could cause total liver failure. I was actually exposed a long time ago (30 years) to Hep A, and was voluntarily vaccinated back then at the health department. But, upon testing prior ot HCV treatment, I showed as no antibodies at all. No sign of any vaccination.

I'm definitely getting the series of three hep a and b shots. I guess I was just surprised at the other recommendations. I haven't heard anyone on here mention any of this. I never got the flu shot except when I was pregnant and my daughter was a newborn. I just wonder if the pneumonia and pertussis is necessary.

I got tested today, my initial test and I asked for Qual Quan A,B,C, CBC, Platlet alt ast, everything and they drew for all of it and when I asked about the A and B vaccination he said if I tested pos hcv then I would get them. I think it's standard operating procedure upon a positive hcv...but I'm new at this...and could be wrong.

Yes. Do 'em all. They're good for you. I've had 'em all.

Some are sensitive to certain vaccines. I didn't have any trouble with any of them.
