Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
just a note, most of us do get some anemia, some worse than others, but not EVERYBODY gets so anemic they need to reduce meds or get a transfusion. My anemia got better after stopping incivek and a slight reduction of riba.
7 more wks of incivek..... GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO it's tough, but you can do it. Like others have said, stick w/your schedule, eat at least 20 gr of fat w/each dose, and WATER WATER WATER.
I know it sucks, Bob, but it's totally worth it to be rid of HCV. Hang in there! :-)
