Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
The day has finally come and my test results are in and I am officially undetectable. I had no side effects on Harvoni and I believe it will go down in history as a miracle drug. I am absolutely thrilled as this news gives me a long awaited, happy ending to my story. However, my victory is bittersweet as there are so many that lost their battle waiting for a cure. There are also those still unable to get approved for Harvoni by their medical insurance. With the advent of the new medications coming out this year, theres no doubt in my mind that eventually everyone will be getting access to the new drugs, so hang in there.
Having this forum has truly been a gift and I want to give a BIG thank you to all my hep brothers and sisters that posted and gave me hope, encouragement and comfort during my healing.
That said, it is time for me to say goodbye as I will be leaving this site to get back to work full time on my manuscript. My book is a tribute to all of my fellow heppers including those afflicted with autoimmune disease. My story is about my journey to wellness fighting hep c during eight weeks of treatment on Harvoni. I also chronicled my success in reversing lupus and rheumatoid arthritis while on the Gerson Therapy. Its my hope that my book will generate the global awareness that we so rightfully deserve.
Its my new passion to help others understand that conventional medicine can work in tandem with alternative healing therapies. Thanks to the new medicines we no longer have to feel the shame and stigma of this disease. After decades of suffering in silence, we can finally come out of the closet and proudly announce we slayed the dragon. In the coming years, millions around the globe will be cured and hepatitis c will become a thing of the past, just like polio and tuberculosis.
It is time to start living my life again and getting back to my purpose sharing, inspiring and helping others achieve their goals in becoming well. Its going to be a great year and I wish everyone the very best on their continued journeys to good health.
