Got results of one month post TX labs. Yahoo!!!!!! Not considered cured 'til 6 month blood test, but dr. says it's 99%.

Wow!!!!!
I wish he'd run liver functions -- it would be so cool to see normal enzymes (I'm assuming they are). We;ll do those in 5 months but for now, time to celebrate.

Wow, so elated for you. All the stress and worry that we all go through, so glad soo many of us are finally on the healing mode. I too am sure your liver enzymes are normal. Mine have been as soon as my first undetected 2 months ago. get labs done every month and they have come back sweet every time.
Now your liver can heal itself without the burden of being attacked by that virus.

liver enzymes may not return to normal for years..the important thing is getting rid of HCV so it CAN HEAL...
Anyone who tells you they had HCV...when on Tx and BOOM..their liver is perfect..is not telling the truth

I think the liver enzymes can be normal even with cirrhosis.
I had normal enzyme levels all the time until I reached satge 4
Now they are awful ...but I start TX real soon so I'm lookingto get them lower if not back to normal in time ...

I am Genotype 2b, easy to treat, and I got Undetected on my 6/16 labs at the one month mark. They'd given me the wrong test dated 5/1 and I finally caught it last week & had to call & ask the Lab to be sure to send me 6/16 RNA results. So, I'd started at 1,040,000, and now undetected.

And, my liver enzymes have run in the normal range for years. Guess not drinking and not being on any kind of antidepressants or too many other drugs for pain since getting spinal cord stimulators pays big dividends. And I am telling the Truth, HCVCure... Everyone's body is different - I don't have a lot of the ancillary health probs many have, so at 4 weeks, being undetected with ALT at 11, AST at 21 back in March (which was the range it's been for a few years worth of testing); on 6/1 (2 wks into treatment) ALT was 8 and AST 22; on 6/16 they only did an RNA so I won't know new ALT/AST until CBCAs are run again on 7/13.

I will add back in 2007, prior to getting spinal cord stims for my pain, when they had me on pain meds and I was drinking moderately, my RNA was at 50,331,000, ALT was 33 and AST was 46; AND I wasn't eating all that well. So, it indeed matters to keep the body cleaned out as much as we can.

Congratulations!! Feels so good to hear that news....

I agree that diet and drinking, and meds do make a big difference.

Heck, I even ate turkey at someone's house for Thanksgiving and they did a brine (soaked in salt/ice before cooking) and it affected me greatly. Now I am not that touchy to salt, but depending on what I eat makes a big difference.
