Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Thanks McK for this post from '08. It seems the compulsion to drink is over powering for many people. It would be helpful to have a med that breaks the obsessive compulsive thinking pattern.
We do med detox, but that alone does not work. The most important factor is the individual must want to stop and be willing to do what it takes to break the cycle. A med that helps to do that would relieve a lot of suffering.
