I trust no one. Also I didn't read the article, just skimmed it for a minute so my comments may or may not be relevant but that's never stopped me before.

First question I'd want to know with ANY study is who funded it.

Secondly, I think it's been known for quite some time that adding victrelis increases your chances of svr compared to just SOC.

And lastly, I really think Victrelis (Boceprevir) hasn't been around long enough for anyone to say definitively whether it is safe or not.

I'm starting to understand my Dr.s guarded approach to any press releases I enthusiastically wish to discuss with him.
At first I thought it was indifference but I understand his comments now, "Trials. How to make sense of them all?"

I have personally put more faith in my fellow heppers than anyone else, including family and docs.--no offense dear. I read articles to see which drugs I want to take and then use my own discernment.

I didn't read it. It is beating a dead horse. I want my viral load tested every year even if I have to pay for it. Keep fingers crossed, pray and eat right and hope I don't 'reinfect' myself.

Hi risk! For a cure! Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, tattoo, shooting drugs, mushrooms, LSD, cocaine, safe sex and the list goes on. None of these are a cure, only have a down side. Could triple tx be the most harmful thing we've done to ourselves?

I read them both too. The numbers did come out in favor of cirrhotics. That was unexpected news. I was kind of shocked since they barely let me treat for fear of liver and kidney failure.
And I agree, the gamble was worth it. Like I had an option. lol.
