Everyone has somewhat different side effects. And they evolve as treatment progresses.
I found that if I took two Tylenol 30 minutes before my shot that I didn't run a fever. But always ask your doctor before taking any medicine.
Drink lots of water. Then drink more.
Read some of the older posts and you will find lots of good advice for dealing with side effects.

Tulsa's right, side effects vary. I tolerated treatment better than many, and was able to work. For me, the sides worsened over the first month, but then eased up again especially after I stopped taking incivek. I think many people get "used to" the effects. Good luck on your journey and welcome to our group.

be sure to look for sarpsis' tips posting... very comprehensive.. she told me the first two weeks were the worst... get thru those and your body adjusts...

I just posted the list NOSTOP. These are the things that helped me get through and others have added their things to it too. Hope it helps you get through the first 2 weeks. Honestly, I spent the first week basically in bed the whole time!
My first shot, had 102 fever WITH tylenol on board!

I had no side effects for 4 weeks. Never had a side effect from the weekly injection. Had plenty of other side effects. Everybody is different. Good a luck no stopping

They have a lot of rescue drugs that can help your sides.You need to tell your doctor what you are experiencing,and he could recommend something for you.And if that drug don't work ask for another.

Lots of good tips here. The only thing I would add is to keep a simple diary of your side effects. On a scale of 1-10, how bad are the body pains, fever, headaches, itching, etc. It will vary from day to day. Then the next time you see your doctor, you have a pretty good record to share with them. Also make sure you write down any other meds or home remedies you are taking.

If the symptoms ever get to an 8 or 9, call your doctor immediately, or go to the ER. There may be other meds your doctor can give you that will help.

I could barely move the first to weeks, but after I stopped taking another med, that became more manageable. Now I have non stop itching, but I just imaging that it's the virus dying, and trying to get out.

I am into month 6 of TX. I was sooo sick when I started Tx and have had to ask for meds to help get me through the rough days. Your doctor can give u something for your nausea and pain.
Motrin or Ibuprofen helps with the body aches and pain.
It does get easier in time. It varys on how much time that takes. I am just now getting to where I can endure the shots. I still have the nausea but treat it with RX. Stay with DS....the people here will help you through this TX.

From what I have heard, B-12 and wheat juice and plenty of water! I think if the nausea get too bad they can prescribe Zofran.

Hydrate, DS, find a few members to talk to on the phone, ask for side effect mgmt from your team and try to stay positive. Nothing about this is easy and I'm on SOC therapy for 32 weeks. It is tough. Easier in some ways than expected and harder in other ways I never imagined. I have 7 weeks left though. I'm getting through it you can too.

Hi. I just wanted to welcome you and tell you how brave you are to decide to do tx. It has been a very rough road for me and I have found so much info and help on this site.
One member, sarpsis, is full of great advice. Check out her posts.

All of your symptoms are normal. Tylenol does help a great deal. Most folks feel really sick for the first couple of months and then they kind of get used to the side effects.

I have had a rough time throughout the whole tx process...so I can relate to the aches and pains you are going through.

Be sure to tell your Dr. about all of your symptoms. They can give you something for the nausea and any other problems you are experiencing.

Wow Dr. Joe responded to an old post. I wonder how no stopping is doing? Are you doing it or did you stop?

Okay I'm sorry but I did have to laugh about "all of your symptoms are normal." It just struck me funny as I'm getting out of bed and not feeling great as usual with a headache, feeling low, ruminating on this tx, not breathing normally and seeing how my skin is healing today.

I thought, yes the aches, headaches, weird pains, nausea, insomnia, itching, depression, rash, growing a second head, losing your toenails, turning green, rages and nothing tasting right are all par for the course. Yup it's working. Lol. All temporary and they'll resolve hopefully sometime after you're done.

Well hopefully you're going strong and things are improved now.
