Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I've almost come to the end of the internet on anything to do with liver. ;) Last night I found a clinical trial in San Antonio. They are enrolling for naive chronic hap c. That's me!
I haven't gone to the site yet to call. I came here first. I guess like Linus I needed my little security blanky first. I'm scared to call! How crazy is that? The worst case scenario would be they say no. But maybe they'll say yes!

In order to do this, I called these folks 3 x a week for 2 weeks...and finally was able to get in and be geno'd and have labs/IL28b's sched.....and a biopsy sched.....
Instead, I got into a teaching college clinic near Austin, had all of this except the geno done with them; and have been on tx since Oct 21....and am undie w incivek/inf/riba.

they may be able to help you, or put you on a list for the future, have a drop out, etc.......
or the travel just may be worth the investment......even if you are broke....as i am...
