Too much pain meds??

I have just started shots and have the body aches really bad. I have been taking tylenol every 4-5 hours but that won't take me through the 24 hours when the bottle says not to take more than 8 pills in a 24 hour period. Any advice??

ive been taking ibprofin two in the morning and two at night. I don't go over that amt, doc told me not to exceed 6 a day. so i could actually take two at lunch but i don't. I usually only have the major aches the day after the shot. it gets a little better two the next day. You can talk to doc and prolly get pain meds prescribed if it is unbareable. I am trying not to go that route if i can live without them.

I took my shot last night, so today has been pretty bad. Ive done nothing but lay around theh house.

Thanks- I hate to take too much too but I feel like even my fingernails ache! I have a strong pain tolerance but it just not fun- Hope tomorrow is better. It surprises me that the side effects happen so soon!

doctor lets me take advill 2 every twelve hours. usually I just take one every 6 hr . ask your doctor

yeah usually i start feeling the sides of the shot within like 30- hour of taking the shot. then i just feel crappy the day after, so i always take the shot right before i go to bed, so i don't feel so bad the night i take it. I plan on doing nothing the day after then the sides to me start easing up a bit by sunday. Hang in there. Hopefully the sides will ease up soon

I take advil...it works fairly well for me. My doc said not to exceed 1mg in 24 hour period. When I first started, I had the muscle aches for the first few weeks, and now have very little...just now and then it crops up again...but overall not much to complain about the aches. Your body can get use to the rx, and hopefully your aches will diminish too!

Great question, before starting tx, I was already on pain pills for a whole different reason than hep c, and asked her if any kinds of pills are dangerous for the liver.

She then proceeded to tell me, that any kind of pills, approved by the FDA, and taken as prescribed with no alcohol, as no bad effect on the liver.

Now having soo many health issues and different bone and chronic pain problems, I am on pain medication for years now, and every once and awhile I get my enzymes checked to make sure that my liver numbers are normal, and just had some results a few months ago, and every thing was in normal range.

So I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you take them as prescribed by your doctor.
