Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I have hep/chirrhosis stage 4, I know getting rid of this monster of a virus is a must.. but am so afraid that I will just damage my liver more..my question should I leave well enough alone actually its not well enough I do suffer a lot of health issude due to the hepc/cirhosis
or take a chance and go for it, I feel like I'm in a Sink or Swim situation.. I kind of know what I should do.. I know that the hep c will only cont to hurt my liver.thus causing me pain and suffering.. what to do what to do plse advise...

First thing that comes to my mind is, what does your doctor advise you to do?
Since you have cirrhosis and are stage 4, does he tell you to treat now, or try and wait for the new trial drugs?
There is another group on here that some have some HCV, and /or Cirrhosis. Just type "Cirrhosis" in the search box above and it will take you to that group.
I think you should ask them that same question and see what they say. I will warn you that they are a pretty somber group for the most part, but they can probably tell you more about the Cirrhosis part of HCV and the ins and outs.
Maybe they can help with some of your questions, then we can help too with questions about HCV and treatment.
It's a gathering of information time for you, scarey I know. We're all here to help, but can't make up your mind for you about doing treatment. Get your info, then you'll make your choice.

There are genetic tests you can have that can predict how well you may do on current drugs.
You really need your Dr.s input before you can decide if you should treat now or wait.
