If I had known the risks of SOC I would not have attempted it.
Mild flu like symptoms and "you can just quit if you find it too rough" was all that I was told by my liver doc, no mention of lasting damage.
I am sensitive to the fact that posting negative information about SOC and triple therapy is going to annoy some folks on treatment now, but that is not reason enough to avoid the facts.
It's about making informed decisions.
Again I wish you success on your quest for health and am happy that you are handling the drugs as well as one can!

Everything In the article dark side I was informed by my doctor. Triple therapy was the third time treated for hepc. I finished 15 months ago and have no regrets about my decision to treat. Some people can tolerate medicine better than others, we are all here for support for the decision we have made. It's a support group not groups or gangs!

I totally agree with Marilyn this treatment is hard enough, support is what we need not negative remarks fueled with fear, we're scared enough but I personally have been on this drug in my 10th week now and it's been no picnic but I have also been undie since week 4 then again at week 7 with no rash at all. So everyone responds differently. We need to encourage and support not scare and is it worth the battle at this point I certainly think so, it seems to be working thank god . Will be tested again for vl at end of this month and hoping for good news . So anyone on the treatment stay strong and think positive there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Well, I for one do not see this article which was written by the good folks in Hepatitis Central as being totally negative... In fact the very nature of the article is to educate with nothing but facts!

Everything I read in the article is factual and yet they're nt directly saying that it will happen to everyone on this tx... In fact, they point out the rarity of these side effects and think it's better to be forewarned about such important facts!

Kramer has merely posted this article without any intent of malice!
All he was doing was to inform and educate... So don't shoot the messenger because a lot more great information has come from Kramer's threads & posts in this group!

This is support! If anyone want's to know more about a certain drug and asks in here, sometimes the information isn't always rosy, nice! That's just a hard fact of reality! And whatever accusation hurled @ Kramer for posting this informative and educational article is in itself being very reactionary because if you don't like what it says, then don't read it! But don't comdemn the person who posts it who has always had good intentions in here as long as I have been around... Give Kramer a break in fact, GMAFB!!! And everybody else in here that you may not like or agree with!!!

I for one prefer the facts. The more the better. Besides, dont shoot the messenger.
I only read the threads that I want to read.
IF I am fortunate enough to get ANY kind of treatment...I want to know everything there is to know.
I dont see how posting news can be construed as "using scare tactics". I get tired of looking for the latest news, shoot, I get tired of using this stupid computer.
So, I am grateful for the news that Kramer posts, be it good or bad.
