Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Well, as usual I'm fairly self centered. I've been focusing on how the side effects of treatment have been affecting me, and completely forgot about my wife.
Yesterday I overheard her talking on the phone to her best friend. She said she's been having a very hard time sleeping because all I do is toss and turn at night and constantly twitch.
It stopped me in my tracks, I hadn't considered how this has affected her. I have low energy and she has to pick up the slack. We don't eat together like we used to due to my crazy fat intake schedule. Plus I can't sleep due to the itching and twitching, despite RX from the doc.
I told her I would sleep in the spare bedroom for now, but she said that would just make it worse for her, she is used to me being there even if I toss and turn. Bless her heart. I made sure to tell her how much it meant to me that she is standing by me through all of this.
So folks, reach out to your wife, husband, significant other, boss, roommate.... whomever. Thank them for taking this journey with you. And realize that it's not only you that are affected by this virus.
Now I will climb down off my soapbox. :-)

I live just with my cat, and although she's lazy & does not pick up the slack, and still expects the same care she's always gotten, I'm glad to have her here to cheer me up & make me laugh. If it were my ex-husband, it would be pretty much the same scenario, minus the making me laugh & cheering me up. So it's all good.
Maybe you can plan a lunch together?

Two weeks post now, I'm starting to get a little sharper and less bitchy and I'm sure she's happy. :-) I still feel anti social and don't want to go do anything yet though. She sure puts up with me well!
Great post!!! You have a wonderful wife and you are wonderful to for seeing what you have. Most M/F would just take it for granted. I also have a wonderful husband that has been there for me. Not saying it is always rose colored glassed, but for the most I have to tip my hat to him. He does get fed up with all the crying. I can't seem to help myself and I have had a couple of negative things come my way recently. Even then I can see he is trying. There was a period were I thought this was going to break us up, now I know it was just the meds.

My partner worked hard and picked up the peices but still sometimes thought I was being lazy and rude, I think its confusing for them because we don't look unwell and its so ongoing.
Post tx things are so much better, much much more relaxed on the relationship front. Its really wonderful you are talking to her and thanking her though this, from a womans perspective I feel this would help greatly.
