Medically it's valuable to know your situation and then be able to treat it.

However, once all these people get diagnosed with hcv, it'll be difficult for them to get affordable medical and life insurance policies

This was on the news a couple of months ago.....CNN I think, but it was just a blurb and if you weren't listening closely, you would have missed it entirely! Plus Ann Curry's smirk on her face was unmistakable! The old " If you have HCV, then you deserve it" smirk!

So true Joe! So what are they actually doing? No one is going to volunteer to be tested to see if they are sick when they don't feel sick at all. Everyone is scared about those 2 things Joe just mentioned, plus don't forget the stigma of having the virus!

This whole thing is going to be very weird for the next year I think. It will be a " Panic the public, or don't panic the public." type of situation becaus e WE all know that there is only a SMALL sample of us who know we have the virus. It's going to be something when people find out the amount of the population who really are infected.

I heard this on local radio and the local morning guys talked about it the next day. Didn't asy a lot just about who should be tested. Said those testing positive would need to take "medicine" - Haha - medicine - like it's an antibiotic. Surprise!!! it's called treatment. Anyway we will learn more.

Also, the last thing the CDC wants is a national health panic. Like Debbear - it made me wonder if the cure is close. But then again, I'll believe anything. They probably think we already have a cure.

This was the news 11 years ago. They talked about IV drugs and the baby boomers. I was one of those. I decided on a blood test because I didn't want to hide my head in the sand
