By self diagnosis through google I am assuming that the swelling of my feet and legs indicates cirrhosis or the beginnings of it.
My primary care suggested blood pressure meds to reduce the swelling.
I can no longer wear my shoes
Another doctor believed it was a sprain and suggested wrapping with ace bandages. Both doctors are aware of my hcv diagnosis.
neither doctor suggested going to the hospital.
During a recent family get together the swelling caused some concern with family members.
I have not disclosed my hcv diagnosis with anyone in my family.
Family wanted me to go to the emergency room and I told them it was not an emergency, I told them two doctors had seen my legs and feet recently and did not tell me that I needed to go to the emergency room.
The swelling is not new for me and sometimes goes down if I spend a few days with my legs elevated.
I told everyone not to worry about it but I am a bit worried myself.
I can no longer wear my shoes due to swelling and will need to get larger wider shoes.
It's hard having no one to talk to about my worries.
Then again, I don't really want to talk about it.
