Yes it's a HUGE win for equality. We are awaiting the Prop 8 decision here in California. It's not very American to pick and choose who should have Equality and our highest Court of the land now agrees.

This decision will reverberate around the globe.

I agree. I left the Baptist Church years ago when the Southerm Baptist Convention asked everyone to boycott Disney because they wanted to offer insurance to the partners of their gay and lesbian employees. They are entitled just like everyone else

I am always please when there are steps in the right direction toward equality. none of us are free or equal untill of us are!

and yet yesterday they gutted the Voters Rights Act and texas wasted no time - just 2 hours - to hope on and limit voters rights!! I am very upset over that...and still do not understand the over-reaching power of The Supremes to have done so when no one had filed a case opposing the law! ? It was atrictly political.

This was an interesting article explaining Prop 8. For those that remember, over 80 million was spent on Prop 8 by both sides with over 20 million in support coming from the Mormons, mostly from the state of Utah -- not California!! Also, one of the chief reasons why the Supreme Court did not hear this case was due to the technicality of the group bringing this to court did not have a direct, individual stake in the matter as it did not specifically harm them.
