Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I finished treatment on Jan, 2013 (48 weeks Ribavirin and Interferon)
It wasn't easy at all and during treatment I thought about stopping many times though I didn't think too much about 'Suicidal Ideation' when I read it among the side effects. but lately I've been thinking too much about suicide because during the treatment I was too tired to focus on exams and didn't get good grades (except computer programming, third of my class) so can't join the department I want (stupid rules).
Now my only two options are: 1- join mechanics department (which I know nothing about)
2-Drop out of college

You were a really nice guy and smart too. Dropping out of college is not an option for you. You must go forward. If recommend talking again to an Academic Advisor at your university and also see a student counselor in mental health. Do it. You deserve it. You've worked hard. Can treatment be seen as a mitigating factor? Many of us were impressed that you were a full time student and even that I worked full-time althoufh I could only do the bare minimum at work. My mind was also in a bad space. Much better now but some mild lingering effects from those drugs.

I also asked another professor about re-taking the 2 courses I failed* which would increase my GPA and qualify me for joining CS dept. but he said that the so-called rules doesn't allow it.
Right now my goal is to take it one day at a time and keep myself busy until I can find a way out of this.
