Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
The multi damage done by hcv can lead to joint pain - not saying that is the cause of yours. I have joint point & hemochromatosis - the hemo causes joint pain by excess iron in joints (loose explanation). The hcv causes a state of inflammation to whatever organs it seems to choose, LOL.
I'm dealing with it through nutritional changes & I keep exercising. How about you?
"Relapsed" (euphemism for failed) on a trail of all oral with Riba.
I'm 1A CT and on heavy duty meds for RA including a mild chemo that makes it very hard to get on trails. Hoping to do a LB to get a handle on the stage of my fibrosis which was 3 at last test.
2015 for sure will be our year, if not by late 2014. By 2015 HCV will be a CURABLE disease (when treated in time)... and curable with just a couple of pills a day for 3 mos or less and almost no sides. And then we can all celebrate.
