Starting Treatment for 5th Time

That's right try number 5, started in the bad old days of peginterfuron and ribavirin all the way to the last one with Haverony?sp. The last 2 times I was cured after treatment but the virus came back. So all you people wondering if it's worth it the answer is yes. You got no choice because the alternative is liver failure, not pleasant. And if you fail there is always something else on the horizon. Never give up and keep on trying. God bless you all.

May I ask...how many weeks were you on harvoni, or is that the one you are on now and for how many weeks?
If that's the case what were the two that you seemed to clear then later tested positive again?

I'm on tx #3, harvoni for 24 weeks.
Did solvaldi with riba for 13 weeks, & peg interferon before that.

OK...looks like you did 12 weeks harvoni last time? Twelve weeks is not enough for previous treated and/or cirrhosis.
I would have refused to do harvonii for 12weeks. Initialyl they talked to me about doing 8 weeks harvoni LOL no way.

Are you saying that the last two tx you cleared virus and relapsed. I relasper twice peg/rib then sov/rib. Last tx was sov/rib 24 weeks that did the trick. I believe if you relapse people should do 24 weeks. Good luck. Peace

I relapsed 2x after peg/riba but cleared after 24 weeks in Sov/riba .. 15 weeks since EOT..

Harvoni was only 12 weeks, was clear after one month but came back after 3 month check, same wiyh the treatment before, sitting here now I agree that 24 weeks would have been the way to go but did not know they did that. Now I am on zepatir,, sov and ribavirin and that will go for 24 weeks.

God Bless you as well. Wow. I saw this thread last night and I couldn't bring myself to come into this thread after reading the title. My one tx was so bad. I haven't been here in months but I did start a thread. I referenced you anyway.

I wish you not only SVR but that you win a lottery and spoil yourself and your loved ones going forward.

Thank You all for your support and prayers. I'll start buying lottery tickets and see how that works out for me. I have a good wife and lots of family support which helps alot too.

You deserve a hug for your never giving up as I refused to let this beat me. I took the fifth treatment in April 2014 and have been cured ever since! Believe me I know the hell you went through and disappointments along with the side effects, but it is Worth It!

Thank you for your reply. I felt the same way about HepC could come back but it has been 2 years with SVR (sustained viral response) and have kept cleared. Please don't worry too much about it comming back. The latest treatments taken properly and loyally are minute to getting it back but there is possibility to get it again through this blood borne disease. I'm extra careful not to have anything to do that may infect me again. You will be ok my friend.

My family thought I was crazy to do the new meds, but it WORKED!!
24 weeks SOV/RIBA and now I am almost 2 years SVR - last
viral load done last week.

You are strong and experience should now teach doctors and ins companies to go longer routes to beat this virus down dead.
Especially for us that had previous tx plus had it a long time.
Yes, you will be okay!!
