Jan, as I'm only doing 12 weeks (Geno 2b) with no cirrhosis, I can't believe I'm down to just 3 weeks and 2 days to go! Side effects still with me - fatigue mainly, and the itching, and some skin rash on my elbows.

Wishing you all the best. Drink lots of water, to hydrate the inside of your body, and lotion lotion lotion for the outside. Colloidal Oatmeal 1% over vitamin A caps (break open to squeeze oil onto your skin) should a rash develop, turned out to be the quickest & best way to treat that side- effect (I've never had dry skin probs, ever!).

And, yes, sleep will be an issue. I finally found the right combo that works for me - 75mg Trazodone, 5mg Valium, 2 Benadryl.

so I said in other thread , having brain fog. forgot I already spoke to you here about starting. It is just sinking in to me though, your massive scary situations ; I just looked up ,for myself when wondering what my recent ct scan was for........I noticed the lab paper said HCC and i had to look up what that meant ( I think he was doing it to see if I have it , and I still do not know)
but God bless you and , I say if you have made it this far there must be a reason. We are not done with you on earth yet.

the same meds you started on do not make me speedy or anxious at all, btw. Just the opposite in fact. at times I feel so exhausted I feel drunk.
I am now a person who puts cucumber in her water ! ha. It is kinda nice .

p.s. my cousin is married to a woman from Canada and they tell me your country does not have the marvelous health care system we in the U.S. , think of. (delays in tx for things)
I am really really sorry to bring this up but does anyone else feel like their eyes are going to explode from the non stop action on that kitten avatar ? I am so sorry as I said but wonder is it just me? I literally have to cover that side of my computer screen, to type or read.

I appreciate all comments on this discussion. As usual quest each person can be different. Guess I will know when I start it. Am apprehensive but will never know until I try. Will be at least 6 months as I want to get done with my dental implants first. Will keep everyone posted.

I read your post, #5, I think....Zennah ? sorry my brain fog...on the next page so can't see it in front of me....it is nice to read someone with similar situation as me, who is further along on tx.
I am , btw, geno 2b, also. I never can remember if that is a better or worse one to have. lol. my doc confused me when I first came to him saying let's do this....( I never wanted to b4, with the old tx meds..even though , back then I think I was the geno type that it helped easier) but he told me with his wry humor (he kind of reminds me of Dr House) that now, with the newer better tx, it's backwards for which genotype is easier to clear etc. I don't remember half of what he tells me. b4 I forget I wanted to say, we seem to have the same sxs (fatigue & itching) I am concerned about what lotions etc, I put on my skin b/c it is ALL filtered by the liver. Do you realize that? It is not the kind of thing I would bring up with my doc b/c I do not think he would really have much to say. I use (Ironically) coconut oil for my skin and itching. Ironic b/c somewhere on this forum recently I think I read sick livers cannot process coconut (?) which is further ironic since I have not only been putting on my skin for the past year but consuming a lot of it. I lost 40 lbs in the past year and thought maybe it is the healthy oils.
also I wanted to say.....I know I learned a long time ago how toxic Vit A can be in high doses to anyone...but especially someone with liver disease. so now I worry about you putting it on your skin. do you have any thoughts on this ? these are not things I am sure about, but just wanted to point out, in case.

I want to add , after reading my last reply , that my doc has very high regard for the new tx's and talks about it as though it will definitely clear me of virus. I did not want to make it sound like my genotype is going to make that not happen. I saw him finally, yesterday to find out about my pre tx labs and scans ; I will write new topic for that. so confused.

dr gave me ambian to help sleep it worked
